Its vision is to have Inclusive-Cities- where low-income communities have adequate housing and services, and can live in dignity. Formed in 1996, the movement brings together local groups from cities and towns to improve the quality of life of slum dwellers and urban poor people in Kenya through a process of policy advocacy and dialogue. Muungano Wa Wanavijiji is currently working in 21 counties in Kenya, partnering with different county governments and other Civil Society Organizations.\n\nSDI-Kenya in partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), SouthSouthNorth (SSN), Akina Mama Afrika, and Hivos are implementing a five-year lobby and advocacy program that\naims to scale up climate action responses targeting vulnerable communities. In this regard,\nSDI Kenya is seeking to collaborate with 3 county governments in implementing the\nprogram in the region. The county governments will be instrumental in demonstrating the\nclimate challenges it has faced over time at the county scale, and help in shaping effective climate\nsolutions in order to improve the overall well-being and quality of life of the residents. In\nline with the program's overall vision, the collaboration will also strengthen the grassroots\nmovement’s decision-making in climate action and amplify community voices.","exclusions_policy_url":"","first_publication_date":"2022-03-11T12:44:00+00:00","hq_country":"KE","organisation_identifier":"KE-KRA-P051326872M","organisation_type":"22","region":"","reporting_source_type":"primary_source","website":"https://www.muungano.net/"}
