The organization has around 3,000 members and twenty local groups around Sweden. PGS also support projects that are carried out together with local partners in Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza.\nAll activities are based on human rights, UN resolutions, international law and the global goals.\n\nThe vision of the Palestine Solidarity Association of Sweden (PGS) is an end to Israel's unlawful occupation of Palestine, the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza with East Jerusalem as its capital, and a just peace based on international law.\nThe aim of PGS’ international work is to support Palestinian civil society, particularly grassroots organisations, in their quest to achieve their rights in accordance with UN resolutions, international law and Agenda 2030. PGS supports efforts to strengthen civil society in Palestine and in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, in order to contribute to the democratic development of Palestinian society and create the basis for a viable Palestinian state once the occupation ends.\nThe work of PGS, whether in Sweden or in Palestine and Lebanon, is based on human rights, international law and UN resolutions concerning Palestine and the Israeli occupation. PGS advocates for Palestinian authorities, institutions and organisations to respect full civil and democratic rights and freedoms for its people and supports the democratic development of Palestinian society through cooperation with civil society and popular movements that promote such development. \nIn Palestine and in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, PGS collaborates with organisations that share those same values. Through joint projects or donations, PGS supports initiatives that are developed by local democratic organisations, that reflect community needs and encourage the democratic development of Palestinian society. \nFor more than forty years, PGS has cooperated with Palestinian civil society organisations servicing vulnerable community members in the West Bank, Gaza and in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. In all its programmes in Palestine and Lebanon, PGS aims to offer hope and opportunities for the future. Continued collaboration with the organisations included in this proposed intervention will further improve their efforts to empower children, youth, women and other vulnerable groups in a situation of war, poverty, volatility and widespread despair. \nPrevious projects and programmes have contributed to concrete results such as: \n-\timproved understanding of children's rights and human rights;\n-\timproved school results; \n-\tincreased gender equality; \n-\toffering young people training and skills that led to a better life situation; \n-\tand last but not least strengthening local civil society organisations that have vital roles in their communities.","exclusions_policy_url":"","first_publication_date":"2026-03-02T15:41:00+00:00","hq_country":"SE","organisation_identifier":"SE-ON-802009-9258","organisation_type":"22","region":"589","reporting_source_type":"secondary_source","website":"https://www.palestinagrupperna.se/"}
